Well, here is my third attempt at a romance story. I have no had much luck getting my other stories (HOTEL ROMANCE, HOSPITAL ROMANCE and OLYMPICS ROMANCE) published, but I am not a quitter!!!!

I have been inspired by the "Twigh Light" books which both my daughter and granddaughter have been reading. In fact, is the only thing that Mihriah reads after she stopped reading Harry Potter!!!!

So here is a story about a "vampire" romance. I hope it is not too gothic or "sexy" and I have tried to put good Christian values in it.

VAMPIRE ROMANCE

By "Liz Dawson"

Elise was a young secretary who lived in small town. She dreamed of falling in love but all the boys in her small town were so boring.

"I am bored of living in this small town," Elise sighed to her best friend Donna who worked at the local diner. "Oh how I dream of moving to a large town where I can meet the man of my dreams."

"Well," said Donna wisely. "Maybe the man of your dreams will come here to the small town!!!"

"Yeah right! As if!" sighed Elise.

One day Elise was at the local diner having a cappuchino and a biscuit when in came a very handsome young man. Elise literally could not take her eyes off him.

"Donna! Who is that?!!!!", Elise asked excitedly.

"Oh, that is Theodore. He is a forestry contractor, but it is funny - he only comes here after it is dark."

"That's not so strange," Elise said. "Maybe he is very busy with forestry work. I know they are clearing a new block at the moment. Maybe he is busy with the paperwork."

A few weeks later Elise was in the diner again and Donna came over to her with a mochachino and a biscuit.

Elise was shocked. "B-But I haven't ordered yet!"

"Don't worry," Donna said. "These are a gift from the gentleman over there." Donna pointed at Theodore who smiled in their direction.

Elise began to eat her biscuit and Theodore walked over. "Well, hello. I hope you don't mind the complimentary mockachino and complimentary biscuit."

"Not at all - afghans are my favourite. Would you like to take a seat?"

"Don't mind if I do."

Elise and Theodore talked for hours and hours. Theodore explained that he was from a family who had lived in the town for hundreds of years, but they mostly kept to themselves. He was the first of his family to get employment outside of the family business. There was some resistance, but he was proud of his ability to earn a crust and enjoy the challenges and honest day's work of the forestry industry.

Elise and Theodore went on several dates, but only at night. Elise wondered why this was. She was tired of going to work without having had a good night's sleep.

"Theodore, there is a church picnic on Saturday. Would you like to come with me?"

"I-I'm sorry, Elise. Please understand when I say I can't."

Elise was so upset she left the diner in tears, knowing that her relationship with Theodore was over. He did not love her. He was just using her. He was probably married with a wife and that is why he couldn't see her at other times.

On Saturday Elise was getting ready to go to the church picnic when there was a knock at the door. She opened it and there was Theodore. But he looked strange - he was twinkling, like he had been rolled in glitter.

"Wha...? Theodore?"

"Elise, there is something I must tell you. But I must come inside urgently. Please invite me into your house."

"Um, ok, please come in, Theodore."

Theodore ran into the house and shut all the curtains. His twinkling stopped and he looked calmer.

"Elise, there is something I must tell you."

"I know, Theodore. I know you are married and have a wife."

"What? No, Elise, I do not. Elise, I have never told this to anyone outside my family, but I am actually a vampire. Here I will prove it."

Theodore opened his mouth and fangs sprang from his teeth. Elise gasped.

"Theodore! No! Please don't eat me!"

"It's all right, Elise. The ancient vampire law says that is is impossible for a vampire to kill any mortal human he is in love with."

"But..."

"That's right, Elise. I love you. Will you marry me?"

"But you are a vampire and I am a Christian."

"It's ok - I am a Christian vampire. You know the church you go to? The church building was built by my father, a vampire, 300 years ago. We are a Christian family who just happen to be vampires too."

"Oh, then, yes. Yes, I will be your wife!"

Elise and Theodore married in the old church and then consumated their sacred marriage vow in the bedroom of Theodore's old family estate where they now lived with his family as man and wife. Theodore laid Elise down and sucked a little bit of her blood as he also made love to her.

Elise did not have to leave town to meet the man of her dreams. Then they had a baby.
